Tom and Llewellyn met at consultancy firm Newton Europe, going round the country implementing big data solutions saving companies millions of pounds. In 2017, they read about the AgeUK scandal and decided to do something about it, and Switchd was born.

Tom studied Economics at Durham University and his family is from Yorkshire. Tom has a strong interest in coding and process optimisation. Tom previously developed GCSE computer science lessons whilst working at IBM's development labs and occasionally lectures at Cambridge University to their third year engineering students on optimising manufacturing processes.
Llewellyn studied Material Sciences at Cambridge and is from Oxford. A national university cycling champion, Llewellyn went on to become a professional cyclist for two years, racing across Europe. Llewellyn has a strong interest in the commercial side of the business whilst also being an expert in process optimisation from his experience at Newton.
