More and more households now want to make their house green and are getting frustrated with trying to work out if solar panels, a heat pump or insulation are right for them. So, we've developed our market-first MakeMyHouseGreen platform to solve that and help make houses green!


The journey has been awesome so far and what's to come is shaping up to be even better. We're looking for someone to join the team, join the journey and share in the success as we continue to grow.


Your role

The MakeMyHouseGreen platform helps homeowners instantly see which green home solutions, such as solar, are right for them. Your role will then be to speak to all those who want to find out more to answer their questions, help make sure they're choosing the right system for them and then convert them to an installation. You'll then work with our systems and team to finalise the system design, order the right kit and book in an install date.


So, right from the first interest someone has you'll be taking them through the journey to complete their green home installations!


Don't worry, we'll teach you everything you need to know, so you'll be a green homes guru in no time!


Key responsibilities and areas of ownership

  • You don't need to know all of the below yet - we'll teach you!
  • Speaking with customers to answer questions and build a relationship.
  • Helping users work out which green solution is right for their home.
  • Converting people from initial interest through to getting an install.
  • Co-ordinating kit order and installers to make the installation happen.
  • Looking for ways to improve all of the above.

Your role

We're looking for a lead developer to join our team. Our tech team is small but currently growing rapidly, so you'll be joining a fast paced team.


Supported by Tom (our CTO & Co-founder) and by our head of product you'll lead significant tech projects to accelerate the development of the MakeMyHouseGreen platform.


Our ideal candidate is someone who can show a passion for development and finding the right solution , is excited about the vision of our company and is an all round good egg.


Key responsibilities and areas of ownership

  • Leading on implementation of innovative and exciting MakeMyHouseGreen product features (Smart Meter data, energy modelling etc...)
  • Working with Tom to design and work through complex challenges and architectural decisions.
  • Building front-end UX, as designed by the product team, to delight customers.
  • Managing and coaching developers in your team to improve them rapidly.
  • Helping to improve and embed the tech team ways-of-working to ensure world-class speed and quality.

Requirements

You don't need to know how to do all the below yet. We'll teach you anything you don't know. What's important to us is that you are a keen and quick learner!

  • Clearly evidenced problem solving ability in previous technology applications.
  • A solid understanding of technical architecture.
  • A solid understanding of database structures and MYSQL.
  • Work well in a small team to rapidly test and build awesome tech.
  • Well organised and time effective.
  • 3+ years of experience as a developer in a tech startup.
  • Friendly and personable.

Your role

This is an awesome opportunity to be the first designer to join our exception and fast-paced tech and product team. The mission for this role is twofold.


Firstly, to work hand in hand with our product team, speeding up delivery and helping make sure the platform is super easy to use and looks awesome. Secondly, to shape (and improve!) our visual identity in line with the brand, ensuring consistency across all user touch points.


Our product team are delivering innovative solutions to user needs across the platform. We need you to join us and help make those solutions easy to use and beautiful to look at!

Your role

The role will be varied and focussed around admin, operational and other similar tasks. Some of it will be regular, such as onboarding new team members, sending birthday cards or checking through installation data on a monthly basis.


Other aspects will be more ad hoc, such as organising the Christmas party or filling in a random form to send off.


The key objective for the role is to ensure that regular operational and admin tasks are handled smoothly and efficiently and similar ad hoc work is taken care of reliably. Freeing up valuable time for other members of the team, in particular the founders and leadership team.


This is a part-time role, so you can flex it around kids or other commitments. Providing valuable admin and other support to help the business run smoothly. We're looking for around 20 hours a week, so the salary will be a pro-rata amount of the £18-24k annual starting salary, based on the number of hours.
